Edward J. Boyd
Ed teaches Educational Psychology and Contemporary Issues in Education on the undergraduate level and Philosophy of Education at the graduate level. He also supervises graduate level Independent Research Project. He is a graduate of St. Lawrence University (B. S. 1972 and M. Ed. 1977). He taught psychology at Mater Dei College for many years and continues to teach psychology at SUNY College at Canton. His first career was in the public justice field where among other duties he was a supervisor of family counseling services. Ed has done additional graduate work in the psychology of violence and in thanatology among other areas of study. He is an avid wild berry picker, a trout fisherman and an afficonado of Adirondack North Country history and lore. Ed believes that change in education is always one or both of two things, absolutely essential or absolutely inevitable. He wants St. Lawrence graduate teachers, counselors, and educational leaders to be in the forefront of that change-making.
